'Just do it' - start doing something and you will attract like-minded people 2. Tell as many people as possible what you want to achieve. Word of mouth is really useful to find a site, donated tools and volunteers. 3. Make the project open to all ages - its strength will lie in its broad appeal 4. Network! Link up with similar projects. Find out from them about funding, donations and building up support in your community 5. Identify potential problems, such as soil type, drainage, fencing, shade etc 6.
